Welcome to the 10th Anniversary Vista BBQ Classic (VBC.)
We have arrived at the 10th VBC and we are setting the stage to make this the BIGGEST and the funnest BBQ event this side of the Pecos River.
Thanks to the new venue,
Gone are the days of no parking, clashes with the merchants, no entry before 1PM, no power, and some of the other headaches you all recently remember from being in the downtown venue.
We can even,
Host you first thing Friday morning, (or event Thursday night upon request)
Provide you adequate power for your cooling and cooking needs,
eliminate most curfew issues,

When can I start cooking?
Teams may arrive as early as Friday morning, 8AM, for a prompt Friday afternoon set up. The competition now encompasses a dedicated section of the new Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum location to make it more convenient for you
Should I do the People's Choice?
To taste or not to taste, the is the question! Well, we offer special consideration for those teams that help us serve the public that comes to this event and help make it possible. If the public doesn't come, then there is no reason to hold this event as It costs more than we charge you to put the contest together. That said, we only accept a minimum of 15 teams to step up and provide BBQ to sell to the public for tastings and fundraising. In return, we will offer you incentive of a 60/40% split. Last year, the teams that participated in this more than paid for their participation in the Classic as we see a large audience and only allow so many teams to participate.
What happens on the day of the event?
The official event in on Saturday, July 14th from 12PM to 10PM with BBQ tastings from noon until 4PM (or till they are gone.) Featured throughout the day is live entertainment, the incredible BBQ tastings, Beer Gardens, music, street fair vendors, and contests the public can participate in.
Teams are then allowed to stay Saturday night in designated areas with a required 8AM departure on Sunday, July 15th.
Other advantages about this event
You get to stay overnight on Friday and Saturday.
Your camping out in the old Antique Steam Engine Museum
Free and open to the public with the average attendance throughout the day being 8,000 – 10,000.

The SD Health Board is now requiring that we provide a 3 compartment sink for all teams who serve the public and do not have their own. As a PC team, we are covering this for this teams on the front end that don't have their own. We will then charge you a $70 fee at the time of payout for your proceeds. All other "non pc" teams that just serve the judges are, in turn, excluded from this requirement.
We are positioning the location of the "non pc" teams to be more concentrated in an area of the main drive leading into the museum. The PC teams will alternately be placed in the traffic lane for those attending the festival and there to purchase and consume BBQ. As such, we are asking you to please provide your exact space requirements you have on your application. Please be accurate so that we can ensure space for all.
This also means that SPACE IS LIMITED, so be sure to apply early!
